Love is in the air. May is a popular time of year for destination weddings on Ocracoke Island. Friday, May 14th Berkley Events had the privilege to be part of Erica and Brian’s wedding day. It was a day to remember.
Erica and Brian were the perfect match for a destination wedding on Ocracoke Island. During their years of dating, the couple would vacation on the island. Their love for the charming little village began when they would visit the Outer Banks and travel to Ocracoke for the day. Over the years their trips increased from single day visits to vacations on Ocracoke. Thus, Ocracoke Island holds a special place in their hearts. They added to their memory scrapbook when just last year Brian proposed to Erica on the island. Knowing how many years the two have fallen in love with each other and the island, it made perfect sense they would hold their destination wedding on our little sandbar. The couple chose to include the Berkley Manor and Berkley Barn as their reception venue for their wedding day. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. Erica and Brian worked with Brenda Zeigler of To Have and To Hold OBX for the coordination aspect. Brenda helped them acquire the necessary permit for a beach ceremony at Lifeguard Beach. Following the 4:00pm service, guests arrived at the Barn to begin cocktail hour and then later dinner and dancing. Basnight’s Lone Cedar prepared a delicious meal featuring meat and fresh seafood along with bar services. Ocracoke’s very own DJ Tommy Hutcherson kept the guests entertained and moving with his mix of beats. Daniel Pullen captured the entire day through his camera lens, and we cannot wait to see his finished product. It was a pleasure working with these Outer Banks vendors. Erica and Brian were such a sweet couple to work with throughout the planning process. We know Ocracoke is very special to them and look forward to catching up on one of their return trips or perhaps an anniversary trip.
