What better way is there to celebrate the founding of our great nation than on Ocracoke Island with your closest friends and family?
For the second straight year we had an absolutely beautiful wedding at the Berkley over the 4th of July Holiday. It was our pleasure to host the wedding of Brady & Rosie of Raleigh, NC.
Friday was a perfect summer day for an indoor/outdoor wedding. There was a nice breeze wafting across Silver Lake and through the Berkley Estate, and just enough cloud cover to keep things nice and cool. We held and outdoor ceremony on the front lawn, followed by a cocktail hour with passed hors d’oeuvres, chilled bellinis, and a scrumptious bourbon slush (perfect for a warm summers day!) on the lawn. The evening continued with a wonderful display of dinner options served buffet style in the dining room by Berkley in-house catering service Zillies. Reception seating was outdoor under an event tent with an aqua and beige theme, and complete with a dance floor and live music provided by Coyote. An all around elegant Ocracoke wedding to remember.
Saturday was occupied with a post wedding brunch, a leisurely trip to the beach, the annual Ocracoke 4th of July parade (viewed from our private docks on Silver Lake), before finally wrapping up the evening with a 4th of July themed clam bake.
What a weekend! We feel so fortunate to be able to participate in making such incredible experiences happen. A very special thanks to all of those who helped over the weekend, including: Zillies catering service, Ocracoke Style coordinating, Captain Puddle Ducks Steamer Pots, Coyote Band, and everyone else who pitched in.
